What is SoC?

What is SoC? What function does SoC really serve in a gadget? A SoC is a system that integrates all the components like graphics processor, bus controller, memory, power circuits and most importantly, the CPU; all onto a single chip. A single SoC is enough to run entire devices like computers, mobiles and laptops!
